ABOUT LEGUNDI

The "Beach Vitex" or scientifically known as the Vitex Rotundifolia is a round leaf chaste tree, is a species of flowering plant found on our seashores. It has a procumbent stem sprawing to 5 metres or more, rooting at nodes, forming dense mats.

Legundi possesses significant medicinal properties. Its root is traditionally used to alleviate headaches, while the stems are effective in treating bruises and eczema. Additionally, the seeds are beneficial for coughs and hair-related problems.

Furthermore, the local people in the olden days, utilizes the root and suborbicular leaves of Legundi to enhance the health of the womb and address menstrual issues.
